                                  CHAPTER  1
                                                VILLAGE   PROFILE  -  GEOGRAPHIC
Kombukkaranendal  is  a  small  village,  which  has  3  wards   in  Theethanpettai 
panchayat.It  is   in  manamadurai   taluk  of   Sivagangai  District.The  main 
occupation of  the village  is  Agriculture,Mainly  they  cultivate  
paddy.Manamadurai  is  the  neighbouring   town   of   this   school.
   The  Longtitude  is 78 ⁰   23 ’  19 ”   E
   The   Lattitude  is  09⁰   42 ’  58 ” N
The  village  is  at 11  Kms distance  from the taluk head quarter Manamadurai 
and  30  Kms  distance  from  the  distict  headquarter Sivagangai.The  village  is 
connected  by  road. TNSTC  bus  facility  is  available.The  nearest  railway 
station  is  Manamadurai  above  11  kms.  The  Vaigai river water  is  available 
for  drinking  purpose.Drinking  water  is  preserved  in  tanks  and  supplied  to 
the  houses  through  pipes.The  distribution  system  is organized  by village 
panchayat.

                                           SCHOOL  PROFILE
The   School   is  above  11 Kms  from  Taluk  Head quarters .It  is  in  rural  area.It  is under  the management  of  DSE,  with  co-education. In September  14,1957  this  school  was  established,called  as  Nallathambi Servai  Board High School.It  is  upgraded  to  Higher  Secondary  in  July  11-2001.The  school  imparts  education  for  the  classes 6  to 10  with  single  section  in each  class.In  Higher Secondary it  has  three groups  in  all   viz. Bio-Maths, Comp-Maths, and   Agri cultural  practices.We  are  following  State  syllabus.
                                    The  school  has  5 Pucca  building with  RCC  roof.  There  are 10  class rooms ,3  rooms  for  computer  , teaching  staff  and  office.There  is  an  old  building   with  broken  walls  and  Asbestos  roof  which  must  be  demolished  urgently.we  are  in  need  of  5  class  rooms  urgently.
                                    The  school  is  situated  in  4  acres   and  25  cents,  5  Kms  from  NH49 Madurai-Rameswaram  National  Highway.
                                     There  is  no  adequate  toilets  and  urinals  for  both  boys  and girls.There  is no  compound  wall.The  school  has  drinking  water  facility with  overhead  tank  and  tap.The school  is fully  furnished.Science  laboratory   room  with  equipments  is  available  for  9th and  10th. Lab facility for Higher  Secondary  Classes  is  also  available  here separately.  The school   has 4200  library  books  but  no separate library  room .
                                    The school has 13 teachers including Headmaster and one non teaching staff under permanent establishment. We are in need of 3 P.G teachers for English, Physics and Chemistry. We have one PET, a Computer Instructor  and an Agricultural Instructor
                                    One BC Welfare hostel and one SC welfare hostel facilities are available.


CHAPTER IV
   NEEDS/GAPS  IDENDIFIED  FOR  IMPROVEMENT
This  school  is  in  Sivagangai  Education  division.Sivagangai  is  30  km  away  from  this  village.
                  Thiru  N.R.Raja  M.Sc.M.Ed  is the  Headmaster  of  the  school.  All  the  teachers  are  well  trained  and  attending  in-service  training  programmes  regularly. 
                   The  school  celebrated  her  Golden  Jubilee  Year  during  2007-2008. 
                   The  school  is  achieving  good  results  in  X  STD  since  opening  of  the  school. During  2008-2009  it  has  achieved   100%  result  both  in X  STD & XII  STD.  Further  it  has  achieved   100%  result  in  X  STD  during  2004-2005 &  2010-2011.
                    To  improve  Admissions  and  to  reduce  dropouts  we  are  campaigning  the  importance  of  education.  T he  school  needs  adequate  toilets  &  urinals  for  both  boys & girls,  compound  wall,  library  room.
                    We  are  increasing  the  learning  opportunities  through  study  programmes.
                     For  bridging  up  above  gaps  we  need  app.  RS. 55,00,000/-(Fifty  Five  Lakh  only)  to  construct  urinals,  toilets,  compound   wall  and  library  room.
CHAPTER -- V
STRATEGIES  &  INTERVENTIONS
         There  is  a  lot  of  potential  for  enrolment  in  the  school.  Some  parents  are  admitting  their  wards  in  English  medium  schools  in  Manamadurai  due  to   infrastructure  facilities.  If  the  Govt. provides  all,  the  parent  will  admit  their  wards  here. Plans  are  implemented  to  bring  back  the  dropouts.  The  teachers  are  paying  more  attention  to  develop  the  children  in  all  dimensions  by  promoting  sports,  and  cultural  activities.    
        The  teachers  conduct  literary  activities  ,  quiz,  debating,  essay  writing  model  assembly  and  preparing  for  various  activities. The  school  participated  in  Science  Exhibitions   both  in  District  level  and  State  level.
        The  SMDC  has  met  often  to  discuss  the  progress  of  the  children.
         The  Teacher Pupil  ratio  is  1:20.  The  average  attendance  of  the  pupils  is  90%  in  last  year. The school celebrates all important days. Rs.5000/- is required to implement the above strategies.                                                        
                                                     CHAPTER – VI
EDUCATION  FOR  SC/ ST / MINORITY  COMMUNITY  AND  GIRLS
                                  The  Sc  children  are  good  at  enrolment  and  success  rate.They  are  given much  attention. As  this  result  they  are  stepping  ahead  with  good  scores.
QUALITY
                               The  grant  for  the  TLM  is  utilized   to  prepare  teaching  aids. The  amount  is not  adequate. The  slow  learners will be  given  much  care  by  imparting  remedial  coaching  and  individual attention. The  school  conducted  Awareness  Programme at  the  beginning  of  the  academic  year  to  improve  enrolment  and to  reduce  dropouts.
                               As  the local  people  are  interested  in  education  with  the  help  of  them  the  school distributes  prizes and  incentives  for  the merits  students  of  X and  XII.If  the  student  is  absent  to the  school we  will inform their  parent.If  absents  is  more  than  three  days the  class teacher calls on  their  parent.
                                   Special  coaching  classes  and   study  hours will be  conducted to  both  X and  XII  students  from  8.30   am  to  9.30  am  in  the  morning  and  from  4.15 pm  to  5.15  pm.Study  material    supplied  by  the  RMSA  are  distributed  to  IX  and  X  students.
 TRAINING  TO  TEACHERS
                                  SG teachers  are   trained  by  SSA  and  BT s  are  given  5  days  subjectwise  orientation  programme  by  RMSA.
      
                          EDUCATION  OF  THE  GIRL  CHILD
          Girl community  is  taken  into  account  and  maximum effort  is  taken  towards  the  girls  to  achieve high  scores  in X  and  XII. Strict  discipline  is  maintained.
                             There  is  no  adequate  urinals  and  toilets  for  girls.There  is  no rest  room  for  the  girls.These  should  be  provided.Rs  15  lakhs  is  needed  for  this. 8  lady  teachers  are taking care  of the  girls  students.       
CHAPTER – 7
INNOVATION
Health  checkup  is done  by  PHC  staff  every  Thursday.  Eye  Camp  has  been  conducted  and  spectacles  were  provided  for  the  needed.Health cards  are  issued  to  all the  students.
                   Our  pupils  participated in the Science Exhibition both  in  district  and  state  level.
NATIONAL  GREEN CORPS
                  The  school  has  National  Green  Corps  Unit.Agri  Instructor  Thiru S.K.Babukumar  guides  the  unit. They  maintain  a  beautiful Eco- park.  The  garbage  is  devided  into Bio - degradable  and  non -  degradable.
LIFE  ORIENTED  EDUCATION
                   Students  are  trained in life  oriented  skills by  Thiru  T.Sundararaju  and  Thiru A.Arockiya Jesu Raja.
CONTINUOUS  AND  COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATION
                   Both  Formative  and  Summative  Tests  for  VI  to  VIII  classes ,Unit  Tests ,Revision Tests, Assignments  and Terminal  examinations  for  IX  to  XII  classes are effectively  conducted  by  the  teachers.
                       The  Budget  provision may be about Rs.10,000/-  for  implementing  above  innovations.
CHAPTER - 8
